Youth: stop Gender-Based Violence
Khartoum – Sudan Events
Young female activists around the the world are speaking up and changing their communities. Whether it’s the conflict, or gender discrimination, they’re refusing to stay silent.
In partnership with Y-peer network in Kassala, we held a GBV advocacy mechanism workshop where we heard from 27 young people from 23 youth groups about FGM and CEFM as part of the Stop_Violence campaign.
Following the workshop, the young people were able to come up with a concrete plan for helping their peers and communities stop gender-based violence.
We’re standing with girls, in all their diversity as they campaign for change in their communities. All power holders must play their part in tackling age and gender discrimination and create safe, open spaces to remove the barriers to girls speaking out.
Another workshop was organized In collaboration with Y-peer, a youth-led network, and as part of the STOP_VIOlENCE campaign ,a ToT training on GBV with 20 young activists in Kassala.
The prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and Child Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM) were the main topics of the training.
Today we believe that GirlsRights are HumanRights, we need to work together to create a world where all women and girls are safe and respected.
All power holders must play their part in tackling age and gender discrimination, and the threat of violence, and to create safe, open spaces and to remove the barriers to girls speaking out.
