Al-Ahly: Best Cub in Africa Award

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced today, Monday, that Al-Ahly of Egypt won the award for the best club within the continent of Africa for the year 2023, during the ceremony held in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh.
Al-Ahly competed with Morocco’s Wydad and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns for this award.
Al-Ahly won the award, thanks to winning the African Champions League title for the 11th time in its history, after defeating Wydad (3-2) on aggregate of the two matches in the final.
Al-Ahly faced fierce competition from Sun Downs, which also won the African League title in its first edition.
Al-Ahly club is represented at the CAF Awards ceremony by Tariq Qandil, a member of the Board of Directors of the Red Castle.
While Sun Downs of South Africa won the award for the best women’s club on the African continent for the year 2023, ahead of Royal Army and Sporting Casablanca of Morocco.
