Madrid Star Escapes Heavy Punishment

One of Real Madrid’s prominent players escaped a heavy punishment during the current season.

Several reports stated that Nacho, Real Madrid’s defender, could be punished with a three-match suspension, as a result of his expulsion against Deportivo Alaves, after a violent intervention on Samo, the opponent’s player.

Diaz de Mira, the referee of the match, explained in his report that Nacho used excessive force in his intervention on Samo.

“Nacho interfered with the opponent in a dispute over the ball by using excessive force.” Wrote the referee of the match.

According to the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, the Competitions Committee of the Spanish Federation decided to ban Nacho for one match.

Thus, Nacho will miss Real Madrid’s next match against Real Mallorca, in the 19th round of the Spanish League.
