Grand Egyptian Museum is 99. 5 % Complete

In a recent meeting of the Board of Directors of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), Atef Moftah, general supervisor, announced that construction work on the long-awaited museum in Giza is 99.5 % finished.

According to agencies, the meeting of the board, chaired by Khaled El-Anany, Egypt’s minister of tourism and antiquities, included an update on how the project is progressing ahead of the expected opening in 2024.

According to Moftah, the structural work on GEM has been completed, while 99.5 % of the additional works on the site are also finished. Meanwhile, the external spaces are 98% complete, and work on the surrounding roads is 92% complete.
