SSMO Completes Control of Exported Consignments

During the month of past November, the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, Gezira State Branch, has completed the control of 11 consignments exported abroad through the Madani Dry Port, which included a white sesame consignment to Jordan, weighing 55 tons, a red sesame consignment to India, weighing 180 tons, in addition to 9 scrap copper consignments to the UAE, weighing 360 tons.
It also completed controlling 719 incoming shipments weighing 102,225 tons that conformed to standard specifications, as well as inspecting 345 service shops and 37 factories, which included factories for oils, plastics, biscuits, cotton gins, grain mills, soap and detergent factories.
It managed to calibrate 778 sites, including places, weighing and measuring machines, fuel pumps, and weights of goods, as 196 samples were also tested, 28 of which did not conform to the standard specifications, including foodstuffs and cigarettes, in addition to conducting 25 transactions for gold and silver jewelry weighing 17.9 kg, all of which met the standards.
