The Recovery Festival was launched, organized by the Organization Mahawar for Urban Development and its partners, in honor of the Governor of West Darfur State, Al-Tijani Al-Tahir Karshoum, during the first six days of January , to be a symbol of recovery from what El Geneina, West Darfur, witnessed.
The organizing committee of the (Taafi) Recovery Festival launched under the slogan “We Recover” as an affirmation of societal roles in achieving the meanings of a decent life and a hope of achieving peace, stability and development.
The festival discussed issues and topics related to building youth, society, and culture, including mental health, entrepreneurship, peacebuilding, and protection. The festival also included bazaars, exhibitions, and traditional and singing groups.
Director of the Mahawar Organization for Urbanism and Development, Ayoub Adam Khader, said:
The Recovery Festival came to create an atmosphere of recovery throughout the state, the region and Sudan in general, pointing to the efforts of the youth of this state that were made to hold this festival, which was an outlet for the people of this region and reflected its culture, customs and traditions.
