Cabinet: War Budget, Approved

The Acting Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Osman Hussein, has announced that Sudan’s budget for the fiscal 2024,known as the “war budget” has been approved .

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Gebriel Ibrahim, said that the budget accompanies an economic vision for the post-war period, reconstruction and compensation, and is based on an integrated economic and social strategy and vision in the areas of economic recovery, basic services for the productive sectors, humanitarian affairs, social reconciliation, foreign economic relations, business restoration projects and compensation, in addition to a vision for building the Sudanese citizen, socially, administratively and educationally, preparing him /her for the post-war era.

Jebriel stressed that the budget is flexible, and the Cabinet will review it every (3) months in order to evaluate it, particularly small returns are expected due to the exit of many areas out of production due to the war.
