Minerals: Regulating Gold Revenues in Kasala

The Director of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company (SMRC) in Kasala State, Hamza Mohammed Osman, has revealed that understandings and agreements have been reached with the executive directors within the framework of organizing gold revenues and mining operations to contribute to the revenues of the state and Sudan in general.
In a meeting held with with the Acting Governor of Kassala, Mohammed Musa Abdul-Rahman, and the executive directors of the gold-producing state’s localities,Tuesday, pressing and urgent issues related to mining and mining problems at the level of the concerned localities, as well as security aspects, communications and water in remote localities, were reviewed.
The Governor stressed the importance of coordination and integration of roles between the company and the gold-producing localities and working to regularize conditions and provide services to miners and mining areas.
