A museum that contains an invaluable treasure, the head of Queen Nefertiti, an icon of ancient Egyptian beauty and civilization.
This magnificent bust, sculpted by Egyptian artist Thutmose more than 3,300 years ago, radiates life and magic in a special hall of the Berlin Museum, this hall has been carefully designed, to provide the best lighting and angle to view the statue from all sides. To protect this treasure from any danger, strict security measures have been taken, such as the presence of trained guards, surveillance cameras, and alarms.
Visitors are also asked to respect this archaeological artwork, by not photographing, touching or getting too close to it. Shoes must also be taken off or special covers worn on the feet, so as not to damage the floor bearing the remains of Amarna.
It was smuggled out of Egypt in 1913, after a German excavation team covered the statue with a layer of mud to hide its value.
Since then, it has become the subject of a dispute between Egypt and Germany, with Egypt demanding that the statue be returned to its land, which Germany refuses. Despite this controversy, the statue attracts millions of visitors each year.
