Roads and Bridges Reveal a Plan for Voluntary Return

The Director of the Roads, Bridges and Water Drains Authority, Engineer Mukhtar Omar Saber, has revealed the Authority’s plan for the next three months to complement the National Dignity Program and create appropriate conditions for the voluntary return of the state’s citizens.

He said that the program includes 4 main axes, which are completing the remaining asphalt mixture works for the Western Nile Road and cold mixture works to maintain a number of internal roads in Karary and creating parking lots on both sides of the Western Nile Road to be an outlet to prevent traffic congestion, especially for the markets in the areas of Gezira Slang Al-Sarorab and Al-Badouba, in addition to maintaining and rehabilitating machinery as well as purchasing equipment to meet the ongoing work on the roads and prepare for the fall season.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, confirmed that the state and through its various agencies are working hard to achieve basic services and rehabilitate the infrastructure in order to achieve the stability that the armed forces and all other regular forces and mobilizers seek to achieve. He directed the authority to pay attention to the internal roads and rehabilitate them, stressing his support for the plan until all the goals that would restore what was destroyed by the war are achieved as the circle of security and stability in the state expands.
