Increase in Gas Prices in Khartoum
Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah
The Economic Committee of the Supreme Committee for Emergency and Crisis Management in Khartoum State has said that over the past few days it has been monitoring the increase that occurred in the prices of imported gas, due to the rise in the price of the dollar as an essential component of gas imports. The committee made efforts to reduce the impact of the increase on the citizen, but the instability of the value of the pound compared to the rise of the dollar price prevented this.
The Committee added, “Accordingly, the official price of a gas cylinder for a citizen has become 23,600 pounds, for a cylinder weighing 12.5 kilos.”
