Raising the microfinance ceiling for Northern state farmers to 6 million pounds

The High Committee for the Success of the Winter Season in Northern State held a meeting in Dongola, chaired by the advisor to the governor, Retired Major General Kamal Musa, to review the essential inputs for all targeted crops for the season.

The General Director of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources in the Northern State, Othman Ahmed Othman, said in a press statement that the meeting received reports from the finance and energy committees, as well as the technical committee, confirming the availability of certified seed quantities.

He announced that the finance committee is ready to cover any deficit in production inputs.

He pointed out that farmers wishing to receive financing can open an account using their national number. The General Director of the Ministry of Production revealed that the microfinance ceiling has been raised from 1.5 million pounds to 6 million pounds.

He added that his ministry has made significant progress in addressing the damage caused by rain and floods to projects and agricultural associations, both in the civil and electromechanical sectors.
