Destruction of Service Institutions: Hamidti’s Plan Executed by the Militia

Sudan Events – Agencies

Military sources in the Sudanese Ministry of Defense revealed to Al Jazeera Net that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are currently executing “Plan B,” a backup plan promised by their leader, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hamidti,” after his failure to seize power.

Failed Coup:
The sources, who preferred to remain anonymous, clarified that the RSF militia, in collaboration with political faction leaders, had planned to seize power on April 15, 2023, with a swift strike that would take only a few hours, but it failed.

According to the same sources, after the failure of the “white coup,” the RSF and its regional allies planned a swift military invasion. Their estimation was that the Sudanese Armed Forces were not in a position to confront the RSF, which had spread across Khartoum, Darfur, and the states of Sennar and Gezira. They aimed to reach eastern Sudan and the city of Port Sudan, intending to control the country.

The RSF also failed in its attempts to issue an international resolution calling for humanitarian intervention and a ceasefire, which would allow them to retain the territories they had occupied, according to the same sources.

Plan “B”:
The RSF is now executing “Plan B,” which Hamidti promised in October following the loss of the strategic Jabal Moya region in Sennar State.

According to military sources, the plan aims to deplete and destroy service institutions. The RSF has bombed power stations at Merowe Dam, Dongola in the north, Shouk in Gedaref State, and the Merkhiyat station in North Omdurman. They also targeted the Sennar reservoir and the Umm Dabakir station in White Nile State, and set large parts of the Jili oil refinery ablaze after besieging it and fleeing the facility.

The sources added that the plan also seeks to create a sense of frustration and disappointment among citizens, accusing the army of being unable to protect service institutions. This is intended to disturb daily life and push Sudanese people to demand negotiations with the RSF, ensuring it a military and political future after the war.

The Fasher Plan:
Regarding Darfur, the military sources stated that the regional powers backing the RSF had been urging them for months to take control of Fasher, threatening to cut off supplies of advanced weapons and drones through Chad and Libya if they failed.

The RSF is currently executing a new phase to capture Fasher after repeated failed attempts. They have recruited thousands of mercenaries from Chad and Libya, some of whom were killed in recent desert operations. Notably, one of the casualties was Saleh Hebri, the cousin of former Chadian president Hissène Habré, according to the sources.
