Agreement to Pay Salaries for Higher Education Employees at 100%

The President of the Sudanese Universities Union, Professor Imad Ardib, revealed that the Union has reached a solution to the salary issues of employees in higher education, ensuring payment of 100% of their salaries until January of this year, following the intervention of the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Malik Agar Eir, and his directive to the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning.

The Sudanese Universities Council held its first meeting of this year at the Red Sea University, with the attendance of university directors.

The Director of Khartoum University and President of the Sudanese Universities Union, Professor Imad al-Din Amin Taha Ardib, stated that the meeting discussed the issues of universities and their return after the liberation of several regions. He pointed out the formation of a second committee to follow up on the academic process for students in government universities in terms of credit hours, teaching, and hosting in safe state universities, and a third committee to look into the issues of students in government universities in troubled states and resolve them in coordination with universities in safe states.

For his part, the Director of the Red Sea University, Professor Abdel Qader Badawi, stated that the university has achieved many successes in the past period since its establishment thirty years ago, with six graduating batches over the past two years, calling this a significant achievement. He added that the number of students reached 30,000, and the educational process has been ongoing with the university staff. He emphasized the importance of holding this meeting for the Sudanese Universities Union to develop a vision on the problems of universities by a group of scholars and university directors to discuss solutions and create a vision for rebuilding them after the war.
