Al-Burhan Orders No One to Be Denied Passport Issuance

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The Chairman of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, saluted the martyrs of Sudan who gave their lives for this country, including the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity.

He emphasized the support of the Sudanese people for the Armed Forces, despite the hardships they faced during the war period, stating that without the people’s support, the Armed Forces wouldn’t have achieved what they did. He praised the Armed Forces, other regular forces, the joint forces, and those from various categories who played a central role in the Armed Forces’ resilience. He also noted the role of national political and community forces that stood by and supported the Armed Forces during the Battle of Dignity. He added, “We stand in admiration and respect for all those who supported the army with their money, pens, and efforts. We must learn from this war to build a state different from what it was before.”

Al-Burhan, while addressing the conclusion of consultations among national and community political forces about mapping out a Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue and achieving peace and political consensus, stated that the participation of these forces should be considered for completing the transitional period. He noted that these forces would be an integral part of achieving total victory throughout Sudan.

He mentioned that the door is still open to anyone who adopts a national position and said, “We welcome anyone who has raised their hand from the aggressors and joined the national front.”

Al-Burhan directed the competent authorities in passports not to deny anyone from obtaining a passport or identification documents as long as they are Sudanese, stressing that they do not oppose people because of their opinions and that everyone has the right to speak against the regime and criticize it, but they do not have the right to destroy the country or tamper with its principles.

He further said, “We want this dialogue to be inclusive of all political and community forces. The upcoming period will witness the formation of a government to complete the transitional tasks,” adding that this government could be called a caretaker government or a war government. He clarified that its purpose is to assist the state in completing the remaining military tasks, which involve purging Sudan of these rebels. He confirmed that the government will consist of independent national competencies. Al-Burhan sent a message to the National Congress Party, urging it to refrain from political bargaining. He added that if the National Congress Party wishes to govern, it must compete with other political forces in the future.

He confirmed the Sovereign Council’s intention to move forward in building a Sudanese state with significance in the future.

Al-Burhan said that after the constitutional document is ratified, a Prime Minister will be selected to carry out the tasks of managing the executive branch of the state without interference.

He reiterated that there will be no negotiations with the rebels, and if the rebels lay down their weapons and leave citizens’ homes and civilian property, then we can talk to them. He added, “Some have proposed a ceasefire during Ramadan to facilitate aid delivery to El Fasher,” but we confirmed that we will not accept a ceasefire under the siege imposed by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces on the city.

He said that any ceasefire must be followed by a withdrawal from Khartoum, Western Kordofan, and Darfur states, with the forces gathered in specific centers.
