A Dancer Arrested at the Super Bowl for Raising Palestinian and Sudanese Flags

A dancer was detained during the halftime show at the Super Bowl after raising the Palestinian and Sudanese flags.

During the halftime performance by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, the dancer stood on a car and raised the flags, which had “Sudan” and “Gaza” written on them. The American Football Association confirmed that the dancer was part of the 400-member crew in the performance that took place between the two halves of the game.

The association stated, “This person hid the flag… and revealed it later in the performance. No one involved in the production was aware of this person’s intention,” as reported by the British network “Fox News.”

The New Orleans Police Department said the authorities “are working to determine the charges applicable in this incident.”

The entertainment company that produced the halftime show, “Roc Nation,” stated that the performance “was not planned, was not part of the production, and was not included in any rehearsal.” The show continued without interruption, and the individual did not appear on the broadcast screen during Lamar’s performance.

U.S. President Donald Trump attended the event, marking the first time a U.S. president has attended. This comes at a time when the Gaza Ministry of Health reported that the death toll from the Israeli war on the region has reached 47,583, after more bodies were found during the ceasefire that has been in place since January 19. The war, which lasted for 18 months, has destroyed a large part of the Gaza Strip, while Sudan has been engulfed in a civil war since 2023.
