FIFA Postpones Women’s Club World Cup Until 2027

According to sources from The Athletic, FIFA has decided to postpone the Women’s Club World Cup, initially scheduled for next year, until at least 2027. FIFA officials handling the women’s game reportedly stated that more time is needed to properly organize the tournament.

FIFA first announced its intention to introduce a new 16-team competition between January and February 2026 after a meeting of its 37-member council in Bangkok last May.
