German Police Report Two Dead, Several Injured in Mannheim Car Ramming Incident

German security sources reported on Monday that two people were killed in a car-ramming incident in the western city of Mannheim.
Earlier in the day, German police announced the arrest of a suspect involved in the incident, which also left several others injured.
A police spokesperson explained that a vehicle had driven into a crowd of people. The Mannheimer Morgen newspaper, citing eyewitnesses, reported that a car had plowed into a gathering in Mannheim.
Local police stated that a security operation was underway in the city center, without providing further details. Initial reports had mentioned at least one fatality in the incident.
