The 6th Infantry Division command in El Fasher announced on Friday that there were deaths and injuries in the city after RSF forces shelled residential neighborhoods with artillery. The army also thwarted an escape attempt by an RSF group traveling in 26 combat vehicles east of the city.
In its daily briefing, the division said army forces clashed with the fleeing group during routine patrols, managing to destroy and disable all vehicles. Dozens of RSF fighters were killed or wounded in the confrontation.
According to army media, Hemedti’s forces continued to shell residential areas inside El Fasher using 120mm and 82mm artillery shells, leading to further casualties. The wounded were transported to hospitals and health centers for treatment.
The division confirmed that the situation on the ground inside the city is stable and that the armed forces are in control of various fronts.
