The Embassy of the Netherlands in Sudan has expressed its support for the European Union’s statement condemning the drone attacks on the city of Port Sudan. It stated that targeting civilian infrastructure constitutes a dangerous escalation.
In a statement on Thursday, the Dutch Embassy in Sudan emphasized that targeting civilian infrastructure poses a serious escalation and threatens the safety of displaced Sudanese civilians and international workers.
The Dutch statement echoed the European Union’s position, noting that the attacks on Port Sudan were carried out with external support. The statement added that these attacks represent a violation of international humanitarian law and undermine efforts to achieve peace and stability in Sudan.
The embassy also called on countries that fund or arm the warring parties to immediately halt their support.
