Militia Renews Attacks on Villages West of Bara

Elements of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia resumed attacks on villages west of the city of Bara in North Kordofan State on Friday, following an assault on Thursday that left dozens of civilians dead.

On Thursday, the General Union of Dar Hamid Areas announced that approximately 20 combat vehicles attacked the villages of Al-Murra, Umm Saadoun Al-Sharif, and Al-Rida in West Bara locality, resulting in the immediate deaths of more than 30 people.

According to local sources cited by Sudan Tribune, RSF forces renewed their attack on the town of Al-Murra on Friday amid a communications blackout in the area and the confiscation of Starlink devices used for communication.

Residents buried their dead on Thursday night amid rising tensions following the escalation of local mobilization efforts launched by members of the Dar Hamid community to protect their villages from RSF attacks.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Sudan Doctors Network said that RSF forces had committed what it described as a massacre in Al-Murra and surrounding villages, resulting in the deaths of 27 civilians. The network condemned the targeting of civilians in their villages by RSF forces.
