On Saturday, Lieutenant Colonel Jiddo Mohamed Adamo Hima, commander of Group 135 and the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) South Nyala Sector, officially announced his defection from the militia and his joining the Sudanese Armed Forces.
Jiddo’s defection represents a direct operational and security blow to the RSF’s center of gravity in the capital of South Darfur State. The development comes amid escalating military operations led by the Sudanese Armed Forces to regain control and reassert state sovereignty.
