Expert Commends Russian Contribution to Reconstruction
Sudan Events – Nahid Oshi
The economic and financial expert, Alalla Abdulraziq Alalla, has pointed out to the importance of the current visit by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning to Russia in terms of activating cooperation between the two countries to help contribute in resolving the military and political crisis that Sudan is currently facing.
The expert has reviewed the possibilities of Russia intervening to find a solution to the crisis, particularly as Russia has experience in resolving military and security issues, noting that Russia has veto power to vote in the UN Security Council.
He said that the dossiers of developing areas of joint economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and discussing the dossier of gold exploration are among the most important issues that Khartoum and Moscow would be discussing, as Russia is the largest partner in gold exploration in Sudan, and the largest purchaser.
It is expected that the Russian side will play a role in reconstructing what was destroyed by the war through technical and financial assistance, he underlined.
