The 6th Infantry Division in El Fasher described Battle No. 227, fought on Monday by its troops with the support of the Joint Force of the Armed Struggle Movements and other allied units, as one of the fiercest engagements in its history. The battle followed a massive eight-hour assault by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on El Fasher from all directions. The division hailed it as an unparalleled heroic epic in the “War of Dignity.”
In a press briefing, the division reported that the militia had suffered heavy losses in both personnel and equipment, announcing the killing of Colonel Khala Abdelaziz “Ab Karanki” from Kabkabiya, militia leader Saleh, commander of Group 37, and Ahmed Saleh, deputy commander of artillery. A large number of vehicles and military machines were destroyed or burned, with efforts still underway to count them. The statement added that the remaining RSF fighters fled the battlefield, abandoning their dead, wounded, and vehicles in the “Field of Dignity.”
According to the briefing, the sounds of Dushka guns, quad-mounted cannons, and internationally banned shells pounding the city at the onset of the battle were extremely intense, but the resolve of the armed forces’ warriors, steadfast for over two years, held firm until victory was secured—avenging the martyrs and restoring citizens’ rights.
The 6th Infantry Division’s command expressed gratitude to its fighters, the Joint Force, the police, intelligence, popular resistance, and mobilized volunteers. “You have lifted our heads high and proven that Sudan will never be taken through El Fasher, the Sultan’s city,” the statement said.
Addressing the enemy, the division declared: “To those boasting about raising the militia’s flag over our headquarters—come now, but this time to collect the corpses of your commanders and mercenaries from El Fasher’s outskirts.”
The division reaffirmed that the security situation in the city is stable, thanks to the cohesion of all forces, whose high morale is accompanied by the ululations of women in the neighborhoods. It prayed for mercy and forgiveness for the martyrs, a swift recovery for the wounded, and the safe return of the missing.
