The Sudanese Foreign Ministry criticized a statement issued by the group (ALPS) on Wednesday regarding the situation in Sudan, labeling it inaccurate and failing to reflect the government’s efforts to deliver aid across the country in coordination with state institutions and humanitarian organizations.
The ministry expressed deep concern over the statement, noting it ignored the RSF’s obstruction of aid convoys and the siege on civilians in several areas of Kordofan and Darfur. It also omitted reference to RSF attacks on infrastructure and essential services, which have endangered civilians by exposing them to hunger, thirst, and disease, while the Sudanese government strives to restore essential services and secure areas for voluntary civilian returns.
Sudan rejected any comparison between its constitutionally mandated government and the terrorist militia, emphasizing its sovereign right to safeguard national interests and act in accordance with the highest national interest supported by its people.
The ministry reaffirmed its readiness to work and coordinate with all governments and international and regional organizations that respect Sudan’s national sovereignty and recognize its full constitutional authority to protect the Sudanese people and maintain security and stability throughout the country.
