
Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council Chairman, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held joint talks at the Presidential Palace on Thursday, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two fraternal countries.
The discussions also addressed regional and international issues, including developments in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa, and reviewed the current situation in Sudan and efforts toward establishing peace. The talks highlighted regional and international initiatives aimed at promoting stability in Sudan.
Turkey reaffirmed its unwavering support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The talks also reviewed Turkey’s readiness to provide humanitarian assistance through the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) to help Sudanese citizens cope with current challenges.
Both sides stressed the necessity of halting crimes committed against Sudanese citizens and holding perpetrators accountable.
Chairman al-Burhan expressed gratitude to Turkey for its supportive stance toward Sudan in regional and international forums, highlighting the deep-rooted ties between the two nations. He also thanked President Erdoğan for inviting him to visit Turkey, emphasizing the historic bonds connecting their peoples.
