Trump Gives Iran 48 Hours to Reopen the Strait of Hormuz, Threatens to Destroy Energy Facilities

U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday threatened to bomb and destroy Iran’s energy infrastructure unless the Strait of Hormuz is fully reopened to international navigation within 48 hours.
The explicit warning was issued via the Truth Social platform, where Trump set a clear deadline for Iranian authorities, emphasizing that the United States is prepared to strike various Iranian energy facilities, starting with major installations, should threats to the vital waterway persist.
In his post, Trump wrote: “If Iran does not fully open the Strait of Hormuz, without any threats, within 48 hours from now, the United States of America will strike and destroy its various energy stations, starting with the largest.”
This ultimatum places the region on the brink of a new phase of escalation, as the U.S. president directly links freedom of navigation in the strait to the survival of Iran’s oil and electricity infrastructure.
In response, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters stated that Tehran would retaliate against any attack on its energy infrastructure by targeting U.S. and Israeli energy and technology assets.
