Justice and Equality Movement: “Qubba’s” Defection Shakes Hemedti’s Throne

Babiker Hamdeen, political advisor to the Justice and Equality Movement, described the defection of prominent Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Al-Nour Qubba and his surrender to the Sudanese Armed Forces as an important step in the right direction.

He said it reflects a deep awareness of the dangers of the path pursued by the militia and constitutes a strong blow to its leadership, particularly Hemedti and his brother, who have worked to exploit tribal components and incite them against the state.

Babiker stressed that there is no legitimate cause or objective or moral justification for continuing the fighting, noting that it has become clear to all that what is happening is a plan targeting the Sudanese people’s security, lives, and stability.

He added, according to “Sudanese Echoes,” that they hope the remaining militia leaders will follow Qubba’s example, as continuing to fight alongside the militia is futile and only serves malicious external agendas seeking to undermine and fragment the country.
