Press Association Condemns Killing Al-Jazeera cameraman
Sudan Events – Sumaya Sayed
The Foreign Press Association has sharply condemned the killing of Al Jazeera cameraman Samer Abu Daqqa — the first FPA member to be killed in Gaza during the war.
“We consider this a grave blow to the already limited freedom of the press in Gaza and call of the army for a prompt investigation and explanation,” the FPA said.
The organization noted it repeatedly appealed to the Israeli military to help evacuate the wounded journalist, who was sheltering from shelling after being wounded by drone fire in Khan Younis.
The FPA alleges the Israeli military said it approved a bulldozer to clear the road for an ambulance to reach him, though it apparently took hours for first responders to gain access.
