UN: Sudan Needs World Attention

Toby Harward, the UN Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator Sudan (Darfur) has criticized the lack of attention about the current tragic developments in the Sudan which, he said, is heading for total collapse.
Harward described the Sudan as a country of 46 million people is heading rapidly towards collapse, with very little attention from the outside world.
He wrote in his account in X platform that the Sudan needs attention from responsible international actors in 2024.
“The fighting must end. International humanitarian law must be respected. Violators must be held accountable.” He underlined.
It is to be noted that the war between the regular army and the paramilitary militias currently going on since April 15h last year has created devastating humanitarian situation.
The UN and other international organizations have been calling on the international community to help end he situation there as Sudan relegated into interior position following the war in Gaza.
