Industry Minister: It is Revealed 90% of Industrial Sector was Destroyed

The Acting Minister of Industry, Mahasen Ali Yaqoub, has revealed that 90% of the industrial sector was subjected to total and systematic destruction, theft and looting, especially in the states of Khartoum and Gezira.
She confirmed that the inventory of the factories that were affected after the outbreak of war had not been completed.
She revealed catastrophic effects that affected a large number of factories and industrial facilities, as seven industrial areas in Khartoum State were destroyed, noting that 912 industrial facilities in Gezira State were destroyed, while the disastrous effects reached other states.
Mahasen said during her address at the Social Security Hotel in Port Sudan, the preparatory workshop for the conference on the reconstruction and development of Sudanese industry, that the ministry is working hard with the states to prepare industrial zones and encourage national and foreign investors, by providing them with investment plots at reasonable prices, pointing out that the ministry has developed a plan and map for the reconstruction of what was destroyed. The war, as a number of national and foreign investors began their procedures to invest in the states of the Red Sea, Kassala, Gedaref, River Nile, and the North State, to establish food and pharmaceutical industries, mills, and strategic industries.
