Sudanese Political and Civil Powers Conference, which was held in Cairo on Saturday, concluded its sessions and the conference issued a final statement.
In its final statement, the Cairo Conference condemned the civil war that has been raging in Sudan since April 2023, and the victims and humanitarian tragedies it has caused, and called for an immediate cessation of the war, including strict monitoring mechanisms for a permanent ceasefire.
The conference participants affirmed their commitment to Jeddah Declaration, and agreed to consider mechanisms for its implementation and development to keep pace with developments in the crisis.
The final statement called on countries and parties supporting any party to the conflict to stop supporting it.
The conference affirmed the need to address the horrific humanitarian crisis in Sudan, calling for the protection of humanitarian workers and facilitating the delivery of aid to those in need.

The conference participants agreed to form a committee to follow up on and develop the discussions, with the aim of reaching sustainable solutions to the crisis.
