Minister of Interior, Maj. Gen. Khalil Basha Sayreen, said that Sudan’s participation in the 4th Summit of Ministers of Interior and Police Chiefs of the United Nations UN Member States for the period from June 26-28, 2024 in New York, has clear indications of Sudan’s pivotal and important role in the World community and has removed much of the doubt about the existing state institutions.
He revealed in a press briefing at his office in Port Sudan on Saturday that the delegation had given the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations UN for Counter-Terrorism information about terrorists affiliated with Al-Qaeda who were released from prisons by the rebel militia.
He explained that the fourth conference of interior ministers and police chiefs of the member states of the United Nations UN was attended by more than 100 countries, 450 people representing interior ministers, police chiefs, security experts and delegation members.
He said that the Sudanese delegation informed the conference of the causes of the war in Sudan and all types of violations committed by the militia and the need to condemn them. The delegation also explained the impact of police institutions on the war and the need to support them and increase their capacity to continue their duties.
He added that the participating Sudanese delegation called for the participation of the Sudanese police in international peacekeeping missions, and sending experts to train and build the capacities of the Sudanese police in the field of the effects of war, renewing Sudan’s commitment to cooperate with the United Nations UN and its missions.
