Joael Ndala Joins Nottingham Forest on Loan from Manchester City

Nottingham Forest has confirmed the signing of Joel Ndala on loan from Manchester City.
Under the deal, the 18-year-old player will remain at City until the summer, with the option to make the move permanent after that. According to The Athletic, Forest views the forward as a player for the future, rather than a regular starter in the first team. He has spent this season on loan playing for PSV Eindhoven’s reserve team in the Dutch second division.
Craig Mulolland, Head of Football Development and Talent Management at Nottingham Forest, said: “We are pleased to welcome Joel here to Forest. He is an exciting young talent that our recruitment team has been following for some time. With our history of having academy graduates in the first team since the 1940s, I know Joel will be excited about the pathway we have here at Forest for developing talent.”
Ndala came from Port Vale’s youth team before joining City at the age of 17. He then moved to PSV Eindhoven in September 2024 on a one-season loan with the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season, but this loan has been cut short, and he will now join Forest.
He was included in City’s squad for the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier on the deadline day, Forest signed Tyler Benden from Reading, but the New Zealand international will spend the rest of the season at a first-division club. West Ham United also recalled midfielder James Ward-Prowse from his season-long loan at Forest.
