Talks Between the Sudanese Red Crescent and Counterparts from Four Countries to Increase Support for Sudan

The Acting Secretary-General of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS), Al-Sadiq Al-Lazim, met with a delegation comprising the Secretary-General of the Danish Red Cross, Anders Ladekarl, the Director of International Cooperation at the Spanish Red Cross, Julia Pastor, the Director of International Aid at the Netherlands Red Cross, Dirk Segaar, and the Director of International Cooperation at the Swedish Red Cross, Anders Pedersen. The discussions focused on increasing support from the visiting Red Cross societies to assist those affected by the war in Sudan through the Sudanese Red Crescent.

The five-day visit aims to explore bilateral partnerships between the SRCS and the visiting partner societies, as well as to assess the SRCS’s response to the humanitarian situation in the country.

The delegation held an introductory meeting attended by the Acting Secretary-General, department directors of the SRCS, the director of the Red Sea State branch, and representatives of the partner societies operating in Sudan.

Today, the delegation is scheduled to hold intensive meetings with the President of the SRCS, members of the Central Steering Committee, the Acting Secretary-General, department directors, and the Head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) mission in Sudan.

It is worth noting that the visiting societies have had strong and long-standing cooperation with the SRCS, working on developmental projects in several Sudanese states in the fields of health, water, and climate change.
