Senator Fatima Payman addressed a session in the Australian Parliament, discussing developments in Sudan and expressing her thanks to Sudanese writer and journalist Mohamed Osman Ibrahim (known as “Mo”) and several activists for providing documented briefings and verified information on the course of the war and violations committed against civilians.
Payman called on the Australian government to take clear and effective positions regarding the Sudan crisis, including pressuring the United Arab Emirates to halt any support to the Rapid Support Forces, working toward designating the RSF as a terrorist organization, supporting international accountability efforts, and protecting civilians. She said these demands had been formally submitted to the Australian government by the “Mo Group.”
In a related context, prominent journalist Mohamed Osman Ibrahim addressed, on Sunday evening, an event held by Australian Muslims in solidarity with the Sudanese people. He delivered an analytical presentation on the roots of the conflict and its humanitarian consequences, highlighting widespread violations, the importance of breaking international silence, and building public pressure within Australia to support justice and peace in Sudan.
The event stressed the important role played by Sudanese and Muslim communities in Australia in conveying the truth, raising public awareness, and influencing decision-makers, contributing to shaping a firmer international position toward the situation in Sudan.
