British Fenwick: I’m Aiming for 3 Gold Medals in Los Angeles Olympics

Emma Fenwick, the two-time world champion, said she is ready to go back to square one as she aims to win three gold medals in track cycling at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Fenwick (22) has had an amazing rise since winning the World Championships in sprint racing last year in Glasgow, repeating the achievement this year, along with a historic Olympic gold in the team sprint event.
However, she doesn’t want to settle for what she has achieved and says working on her weaknesses will be her focus over the next year.
Fenwick, who was awarded the British Empire Medal in the New Year’s Honours, told BBC Wales: “I want to win three gold medals at the next Olympics in Los Angeles. So, I need to figure out my weaknesses. I’ll go back to the beginning, training and the gym.”
She added, “The next few years will be all about training, not racing as much.”
Fenwick, along with teammates Katie Marchant and Sophie Capewell, became the first British women’s team to win the gold medal this year in the team sprint event at the Paris Olympics, although Fenwick settled for bronze in the individual event despite being the favorite to win gold.
The Welsh cyclist also won the bronze medal in the Keirin event in Paris but is targeting three medals in Los Angeles.
Fenwick said: “I’ve put in a lot of effort to achieve this, but I’m really ready for this challenge to see what I can do in my career. It’s just the beginning for me, which is kind of crazy.”
