Dissolution of the “Taqaddum” Coordination

Sudan Events – Reports

The leadership body of the Coordination of Democratic Civil Forces, “Taqaddum,” has decided to separate supporters and opponents of forming a parallel government, allowing each group to operate under a distinct political and organizational platform with a new name.

On Monday, the leadership body of “Taqaddum,” chaired by Abdalla Hamdok, held a virtual meeting to discuss the issue of legitimacy and the stance on establishing a government as a means of addressing this matter.

According to a statement by “Taqaddum,” the meeting approved a report prepared by the political mechanism, which concluded that there are two opposing positions regarding the government issue. Therefore, the most appropriate course of action is to separate the two groups, allowing each to work under an independent platform with a different name.

The statement added: “With this decision, each side will operate from now on in a manner that aligns with its vision regarding the war, ways to end it, achieving comprehensive and lasting peace, establishing sustainable democratic civilian rule, and confronting the plans of the former regime, its dissolved party, and its affiliates.”

It continued: “Each group will announce its political and organizational arrangements, along with the new name under which it will operate separately, to the public.”
